What do I like about them? Well… They are so easy to wear, especially with my type of hair which I could name the unpredictable kind. Believe me, they really did save my life (or at least my appearance) more times that you could ever imagine! You just need to put them on and… Voilà! You are dressed! But I guess their best feature is that they can even make you look sophisticate when in reality you were just trying to hide a bad hair day..!

As you must know by now, if you have been following me here and on Instagram, I love making clothes for myself as much as for others… With a special preference for summer clothes and dresses.

This time, I decided to use a fabric that had been waiting patiently on my shelf for a couple of years. I tend to collect a lot of fabrics and materials during my travels and usually let them sit until I find the perfect design for them.

This dress was made in an original African print fabric, which I found in a market in Abidjan (Ivory Cost)… in 2008! So you see, a lot of time has passed by, but looking at it now, I am very happy to have waited that long.

I wanted to create something simple, yet with a little twist as the fabric was already very colorful. Also, I thought it had to be wearable in a different number of occasions, for a day in the city, an afternoon at the beach, an evening event, and as well with heels or flats as I tend to wear a lot of flat sandals in the summer… So, please tell me, what do you think of the final result, what would you wear it for?

When in the end, I realized I had some extra fabric left, I made, not one, but two headbands out of it… One for me, and, one for you! Yes, you! So Later this week I will be putting up a giveaway in which one of you will be able to win my other little handmade head band…! Woop Woop! xx

As you all know if you are leaving in north or central Europe… We haven’t really been blessed in terms of weather. In fact I keep saying that although we are in April, it feels like September… At least that is what I thought until I came across the picture of this stylish girl, taken… last September..! I don’t know about you but I haven’t been able to go around dressed like that without freezing myself since last year, what brought me to say… No it doesn’t feel like September… It feels much worse!

So if you allow me, I will leave you right here and enjoy one of the only real day of sun Spring has given us before the rain returns tomorrow…

Ps: Don’t you love this girl’s dress? It’s color, its shape and her hair… I love everything!

I cannot give you a precise estimation on how many hours of work are needed to complete one single piece of outfit, but I know from experience that it should definitely be counted in days if not weeks…

I really love it when designers are able to surprise you, seasons after seasons, without falling into the costume category… Obviously some of the pieces are not made to be worn on an everyday basis (and probably not on a weekend basis either ;-), but Stefano and Domenico managed to keep a certain simplicity in term of shapes and cuts which made the whole a very coherent and successful collection!

Well I guess there is only one thing left to say… Amen!

Thanks to my dear friend Ingrid, I had the opportunity to discover the entire Autumn Winter 2013-14 collection up close and personal a day after the show in the Dolce Gabbana head office in Milan. I cannot tell you how happy I was especially as I was already a fan of this collection after seeing it on Style.com…

Well to tell you the truth… This collection needed to be seen in the real, in details, to realize how much work went into it, how many details they were, how many sequins and beads were sewn, which a few second on the catwalk will never give justice to. Honestly, even though I spend about an hour and an half between the clothes and the shoes, I felt like I needed a full day, or even a week to immerse myself into this collection and study every centimeter of it so much it was just overwhelming with beauty and craftsmanship!

You must have understood by now that when I was talking about my fashion week “Coup de coeur” in a previous post, this collection was definitely among them, in fact it was my number one! I decided to show you the shoes and bags today and will be sharing the clothes later this week… Don’t look at them as shoes, but as a beautifully crafted fusion between art and fashion..!

First of all let me wish you all, a beautiful Easter holiday! I hope you had a great time with your family and/or friends!

For my part, I decided to take the little red dress I made recently, out for a walk on the beach..! As I spent my Easter holiday in Puglia, I thought it would be the perfect scenery for my dress’ first day out away from the atelier. 

I found this red cotton lace while visiting one of my favorite fabric shop, La Maison Dorée in Brussels… And it was an immediate coup de coeur ! I especially fell in love with its detailing… As I tend to wear a lot of little dresses during the summer, I went for a simple design as the bright color is quite a statement in itself… As for the peter pan collar, you don’t see it in the picture as I made it removable.

Now, I cannot wait to wear it in the summer as, to be honest with you, I was kind of freezing while shooting those pictures ;-)

I absolutely loved the way she interpreted this trend by adopting a bright red oversize coat onto a simple black top and jeans. The whole could have look very casual on it’s own but the coat makes it elegant and so glamorous…   Plus, you have got to love that hat and her gold tipped shoes !

We got to chat over a cup of tea and some patisseries and she turned out to be as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside! At only 19, her blog, which she created two years ago, quickly became a phenomenon thanks to her impeccable outfits shot as editorials, her poise and of course, her doll like face…

Full of secret tips, restaurants, bars and activities waiting to be uncovered, I came upon their site a few years ago while I was actually living in Paris. I immediately subscribed to their newsletter and never cancelled it since, even after moving outside of the French capital, so much I enjoyed it! What makes My little Paris so special aside from the friendly tone of their writing, are the lovely illustrations that brighten up their content thanks to the talented Japanese artist Kanako.

Recently My little Paris created a ingenious beauty box service called My Little box which offer you each month, a box full of goodies and products in accordance to the seasons, and this, right to your doorstep! Along with the beauty treats, they also created their own magazine called My Little World…

And this is where I come in..!

They contacted me to be among the 18 bloggers that would be featured each month in the pages of their magazine!!
